Dr. Carla

Welcome!!

 

I am Dr. Carla Moore, Founder and Clinical Director of Moore to Life Counseling and Consulting, LLC.

 

I am dually licensed as a psychologist and professional counselor in the state of Georgia and have more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field. At present, I serve several metro Atlanta agencies by providing wellness and prevention services, mental health assessments and  training, and critical incident consultation services. In this capacity, I get to I live out my passion for public safety psychology everyday. 

 

My clinical experience includes assessment, evaluation, and counseling with adolescents and young adults, and individual and group therapy with adult populations across a wide range of concerns. In addition to serving First Responders in public safety agencies in the metro Atlanta area and across this great state, I serve as the Chief Psychologist for the City of Atlanta Public Safety Behavioral Health Wellness Unit; and previously served as the Clinical Services Coordinator at the City of Atlanta Psychological Services and Employee Assistance Program. 

 

In addition to clinical practice, assessment, and consultation, I continue to hone my knowledge base through active engagement in research related to my interests in trauma and trauma treatment (including racial trauma and trauma specific to first responders) and culturally responsive interventions, and public service to ensure that I am able to provide the best care and guidance to my clients, both individuals and organizations. 

 

I have the pleasure of promoting the wellbeing of first responders through my involvement with several professional organizations including the Fire Service Psychology Association (FSPA), the Georgia Psychological Foundation, the Southeastern Psychological Association (SEPA)Committee for Equality of Professional Opportunity, The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) Wellness Committee, the American Psychological Association Psychologists in Public Service(Division 18), and the Police Psychological Services Section of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).

 

In my free time, I enjoy creating memories with my husband of 15 years and our two beautiful children. I enjoy traveling, exercising, singing, trying new foods, and connecting with my Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader Alumni group. My strong faith, and connection with family and community keeps me grounded and resilient.
